I went back to Defries yesterday and took the big gun(Nikkor 80-400mm) believe me any lens larger than that would be too much for me. :) for some more attempts at Hummingbird captures. I do have a few of those to share, but this is my F.F. post.I braved very humid conditions but endured it for a couple of hours.

I appreciate your comments, thanks!

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Beautiful use of bokeh and composition, Sandi. The major elements are in perfect focus, they're offset to one side, allowing the bokeh to be a third element, and, I don't know if it was your intent, but your lens position placed the lighter green background color behind the flower and monarch like halos, putting even more emphasis on them. A wowzer, for sure. I don't often place flower shots in my favorites but this one is an exception. It may be Friday but I don't consider this one a "foof". This is art, plain and simple (and my course of study in college was a degree in fine art, so I'm a purist in that regard).

All of your hard work paid off nicely Tigs after lugging that big lens around and having to endure the yucky humidity - great shot of the majestic monarch getting some fuel!!!!!!!!!

. . . and it paid off as this is a terrific capture with fine details and nicely placed against the background as Nik said.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?
