I was not sure what category to put this in but since I was at the Calendar garden, I chose that one. This is my first attempt at this type of shooting.

I placed the globe on a picnic table that was in the shade but as you can see I was looking out into the sunlit garden.

Nikon D500 with the Nikkor 24-70mm lens. F/8 ISO 400 62mm Metering Pattern.

You have to be very careful if you use in the sun, because of the magnification it can burn your hand in just a matter of few minutes.

I saw this shaded spot, and thought it might work out okay, and be alot safer.

I appreciate your comments, thank you!

One of these globes is on my 'must have list' but so far don't have :)

I was instantly drawn to this image Sandi - it is splendid.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Really cool shot Sandi and you were smart to pick the shade.

Comparing your interesting narrative versus Tick's original comment made me smile.
Composition with a high level of artistry, Sandi.
Original and very good work, my friend!

Interesting, our son did one once, if I can find it I'll send it along. You did a great job with it.

Very creative! This would be good to tell the future as well.

The detail in your globe reminds me immediately of the famous M.C. Escher self portrait of the artist holding a reflective globe. It reminds me even though his was reflective and yours sees through to the other side and the curved surface creates a converging lens and turnes the image upside down. Very creative of you, Sandi. I would not have thought of this, despite understanding the concept.
