This is how the killdeer try to distract you, and lead you away from their nests, or babies. We never saw the eggs, or any babies, but they must have been somewhere near.

Another great natural history photo, Sandi, with the added bonus of instinctual behavior of a parent bird. Good focus, outstanding composition with the open space in the same direction that the bird is looking, and the pano exhibits the immediate environment and iher main concern: keeping her nest safe. Great shot.
