Recently I visited this botanical garden, and I love it! It's an 1 1/2 hour drive from my place. So when I go there i will be a take my time and explore, and find a good place to eat or pack a lunch, and make a day of it.

The friendship garden is in Michigan City, Indiana and is 109 acres.

A beautiful landscape and, just guessing, that gazebo would make a great place to eat lunch!

I would sit there and admire the view and help consume your packed lunch,Whilst you set off round the pond on one of your jogs....R.

If this botanical garden weren't a suitable place to relax, there is no place on earth suitable for this purpose anymore.
Beautiful photograph, Sandi!

Tigs, you've found an ideal get-away spot to relax and enjoy a nice lunch - that bench looks inviting overlooking the pond and gazebo - Great Find and Capture!!!!!!!!!

Looks like the epitome of peaceful but, what I want to know is, can you kayak there? (a favorite activity of my wife and I, sorry)

Hmmmmmmm, I just visited a satellite view of the garden and I see that it is a bit small for a kayak, but it is surrounded by trees that likely muffle the sound of what's on the other side; U.S. Highway 12 to the right, the bulk of Michigan City straight ahead, past the gazebo, and a subdivision and golf course on the left. There also appears to be a geometrically-planted garden out-of-frame to your right. The #1 in your title suggest there are more to come, so my guess is that garden is included. This is the kind of place every metropolitan area needs; a retreat to nature for those who need it but seldom get it. Kudos for finding it, Sandi, and Merci for sharing it.
