I’ve been looking for pretty fungus for years and just discovered that I’ve been walking past it for years :-) It’s a matter of looking in the right places.
awww.. i never thought fungus could be good looking, heh :)) and even go to my favourites :)
i love their vivid colours, they make a great contrast with the darker background. oh, and nice lightning on this one, it makes very good contrasts.
one interesting detail - i like the way you caught the spider's web in the background, it leaves an impression that these two lovers had been hidden from the stranger's eyes for a long time.. mysterious, heh :)
i agree with the looking in the right places, but unfortunately, i always look in the wrong ones :))
thank you for sharing this one with us! have a great day :o)
This is sooooooooo lovely..the whole feeling gets to me. The colour is fantastic!! IT glows!!! and then all the tiny fern and forest floor thingies...and the sweetness of the "couple"...its just a most beautiufl photo! I wonder how small they were..
Thanks Verena and Dj :-)
They are about two and half centimetres tall maybe a touch over, certainly not three centimetres. The light is natural light bounced in with a foil pie tray.
Hi there! Well my canvas painting of the mushrooms here has begun...I'll let ya know when its finished..but for now, it is a challenge..have never painted 'shrooms before...smile...thanx for the inspiration!!

Hi Robert..well, as you know, the painting is done...and I feel so comfortable seeing your photo here...in the permanent gallery. I wish I could post the pic of the painting...maybe I can figure out a way soon...I will always love these little mushrooms. Ya never did say how big they are..can you tell me in inches?
These guys look like a couple of little red light bulbs...I'd swear they are emitting their own light, not just reflecting it! Lovely detail throughout and well composed.
