About half an hour north of my place is an Egret colony, which is deserted during winter. The Egrets migrate here from North Queensland and stay until autumn. I was surprised how vivid the breeding colours are. These are some of the early arrivals and some of the lady’s are sitting on eggs already.

That is indeed lively with great framing and color. I am used to solid white egrets here in Michigan, USA. Yours have a wonderful color on their heads. I fear most of our local egrets have headed south, for winter is coming fast to this part of the world.

How very beautiful!! I remember seeing some of the Egrets when I was in South Louisiana. Im not sure if they are the same kind...but what gorgeous birds! ITs so nice you took this photo and posted it. It gives such a good view of them, and your framing is perfect..makes it look very elegant....

Add a few red berries and you have the picture perfect Christmas card. You've shown us the all white beauties before but I have to admit, this is a new sight for me. The colored beaks are striking with their white and golden feathers. The positioning of both is what cinches this one for my high vote. I like that they are facing opposite directions and that both birds are clearly in view. Very nice Robert.
