Here is a Nicobar Pigeon that I found in Taronga Park zoo last time I was there. I had never seen one before and was blown away by the colours and that crazy growth on his beak. They seem to be a ground dwelling Dove and originate from the South East Asian islands.

We get to see all the wonderful colors from this perspective and his head is turned just right to see the protuberance above his beak. Nice capture! What a splendid array of colors he is.

Another top-notch capture from your camera to my eyes Robert! I love the unique colors that this pigeon possesses! It almost looks fluorescent! Actually, everything about your feathered friend is unique up to the tip of his nose! :)
Your capture is spot on with the composition, color, clarity and your usual high quality. Thank you for sharing this beauty with me. He will look soooo pretty sitting on my desktop! ;=)

If all pigeons looked like this they would be more popular. What an excellent crisp clear photograph of this unusual bird. You captured him in the best possible position to show off his beautiful feathers and the odd bump on his beak.

I never realized that a pigeon could be such a beauty. Love the details showing his gorgeous wings up close - and those colorful speckled feet and legs. His iridescent bright blue and green colours are splendid to see. I like the simple white border, as that is all he needs. Makes a great desktop beauty. Thanks Robert, for more fine work :))

This one is no exception again providing both a great composition and being technically superb. I'd love to have one of these on my bird table instead of the dowdy Wood Pigeon;o)
Cheers,
