The Egrets are back in the breeding colony. We are having unseasonably cool weather so they are off to a slow start this year. This one seems to be in a hurry to meet some chick. Enjoy.
When I see these beautiful birds flying I consider it an omen of good luck for me - this is a beauty. I think the egrets around here are darker in color - this one is really different for me. I'll consider this post an omen of good luck for me for the rest of my day! Thanks! ~Mary~
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

May I call You Rob ?
Anyway I love birds as You know, and this is a great capture with good clarity, and no wing blur. The way the light has added transparency to the wings is spooky. :d
Holy Moses...what lens did you shoot that bird with and on what settings? That is magnificent. Best bird in flight capture I have seen lately. A keeper.

Well you've topped yourself Robert, if that is possible! Captivating Egret - are you sure you didn't paint this :) His colours are pastel and soft. Wonderful wing spread and long legs with great feet :) The pale blue sky makes a perfect backing for this guy. This has to be a ten on the V/B...and I'm sure he'll fine a sweetie :)
*You will have noticed that I haven't been commenting as much on your fine images!..This is because of the pains in my hands!..the constant use of the keyboard, makes this difficult..so, my dear friends..I can only apologise to you all in advance!*

Love the detail that you captured of your feather friend in flight Robert. The orange coloration of the head area is quite different from what I am used to seeing. The wing tips appear translucent with the light that is shining through and the angle that Mr(s) Egret posed for you is wonderful .I also like how the legs are extended back in full flight pattern! Definitely a keeper for me as well as a new desktop. Many, many thanks for sharing this with me. Much appreciated my friend =)
