I saw movement in the Bottlebrush down the backyard. So I investigated while armed with a 400mm lens and an extension tube. When she came out the Wren turned and looked at me for several moments before flying away. I wonder what she was thinking.

Stunning clarity. Great picture.
'If' I wanted to fiddle with the picture I would have edited out the tail that sticks out of the birds head, or moved it to the lower left side of the body, but that's a personal habit I have.
It's not a European wren, so where are you from?
Super shot!!

I just checked your profile and it says you are from Australia. So this must be an some sub-species of Australian wren, possibly a Fairy-wren!!!

Thank you Richard. She’s probably a Blue breasted Fairy wren. It’s difficult to tell when her partner isn’t around.

Congratulations ! There is a kind of parallel between the bird's tail and the top leaves of the tree or plant !
Absolutely brilliant

"Text Book" my friend. Outstanding capture in the eyes of this bird enthusiast. Sky-blue backdrop, impeccable clarity and what I like to call a "dream pose". The tail feathers carried upright so typical of the wren species ... my take on the look it's giving you is one of pride ... can a wren be proud as a peacock ? :) Thanks Robert for yet another favorite in my collection.

Really cool shot. The position of the branches are really good, and with the one off in the background. The colors are really good too.

A lovely little lady and posed so perfectly. She choose an interesting plant to show off on. Very good details of her fluffy lil feathers and sweet colourful face. As noted above, stellar clarity and composition. Oh Robert, did I mention her cute lil feet :) You picked a beauty to share :^>
