I put gumboots on and walked through the swamp to see what’s in the trees out in the middle. Hmm Egrets. Dunno if I will do it again though, the mosquitos are almost as big as the Egrets and much more plentiful too.

A big lad like yourself should be able to comply with tiny Mossies!!!....take a pipe and strong baccy!...that will shift t'buggers'!!!

It was well worth the effort though!...A fabulous take on the bird!...clarity is crystal pal!...
Good camera work too!

Those mossies are a fearsome size Bob. They would pinch the pipe then hand it back for a refill.

Fantastic work Robert! And well worth every single mossie attack! Well... from my point of view anyway. I've just done a few years in Oz and saw a lot more Ibis: far less photogenic. Ha! Thanks for sharing: Ricky.

Great egret shot! Most people don't realize HOW HARD it is to get a good shot of this bird. You've got perfect exposure, sharpness, and chose the right lighting to get the maximum feather details. Bravo!

I'm sorry you had to suffer those nasty bugs, but even being bitten you managed to take a top notch shot of this handsome Egret. Lovely details of this graceful stream lined fellow. Marvelous show of those wide spread wings - excellent clarity, and wonderful contrast between this Egret and the brillant blue sky! I agree with 'rozem061' above. Keep up the great work Robert :^>

You should pop over here for a break from the mozzies Robert, they have all frozen to death :)

What a perfect picture - for a reward like this I am sure you thought it worth the gummy trudge and the murderous mozzies.
A truly expert image - thank you :)
