This is a Tiki sculpture taken in Kauai- for the B&W challenge this week. I used a harder focus spot on his face to bring out the detail of his ferocity.

A neat capture of the sculpture, Kathy & looks great in the toned B & W. The palm fronds give the background an abstract appearance. Excellent for the B & W Challenge.

Nice work with the lighting and focus Kathy. He does look a little fearsome.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

This shot's a beauty, Kathy. I'm so very happy that it's not a flower. Happy to see that you're getting out and enjoying the weather and avoiding the plant life for a few minutes a day.

I'm still having computer problems and have finished 25 comments so far this morning (which started for me at 5:30). You have some rough competition in the B/W challenge this week if Wendell and TicK submit their shots. As I'm busy this week posting flowers while trying to keep my sanity, I won't be entering a shot this week.

Love the contrast and detail on this one, Kathy. Excellent title. I think I've seen this guy in my dreams lately as well. Good luck in a stiff competition.

He does look like he could give you a splinter or two if you rub him the wrong way. That would be nasty if they got infected. Nice clarity and focus work in this capture Kathy.
