This is a shot of some of the wetlands at the prairie site I visit taken about 7:00am. The poplar tree is quite old and it is so quiet there all you hear is the rustling of the poplars, slight sounds of insects buzzing and the calls of the red-winded blackbirds teaching their fledglings about life on the prairie. My contest entry.

A beautiful peaceful looking shot, Kathy. I love your composition. The colors are fantastic and at first I thought there was a heron in the water just to the right of the tree, but I blew it up and it turned out to be a small branch with leaves. Good luck in the contest with this fine shot.
