This sculpture commemorates the first running of the Arlington Million. It shows John Henry on the outside and the Bart on the inside as they dueled down the stretch. John Henry won by the bob of the head. The year was 1981 and John Henry went on to win the race a second time. This is a rework of the color version I posted 3 years ago and is for the BW challenge.

I like how this turned out Kathy, very well done, and I like the slight bit of vignetting. This I predict should do well in the challenge. tigs=^..^=

Kathy, this is a perfect 'action' shot, full of tension, in spite that this is an image of a static sculpture.
Perfect entry for the B@W challenge! I love it, my friend!

The feeling of movement despite them being static is a credit to the sculptor and your fine perspective for this shot Kathy. Well done to John Henry but my soft heart feels for Bart who came so close :)
Will add to the BWC now Kathy - thank you.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
