Photographed on a hot August day - this is a common prairie flower in the aster family. This one is how it looks growing in a wetland prairie but this flower also grows in drier settings on the great plains.
Pretty flower, I can see how the rest of it was affected by the heat. It's amazing how plants can survive with the sun streaming through so hot in the past few years.
