These star shaped flowers are originally from southern Africa and come in red, white, purple and pink. They can take full sunshine and do well with little water even in hot dry conditions. They are sometimes called wild Sweet William.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

Kathy. I don't know why these lovely flowers sometimes are called 'Sweet William'. Think by the fine and subtle colors, that a female (nick)name would have been a more appropriate one, ☺ .
Very fine capture anyhow!

The name is familiar but very different to the other sweet william flowers.
These look so delicate but sound like they are hardy plants - they are lovely !

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
