I remember the movie well. It was produced by Irwin Allen, who was named the "Master of Disaster." The "Poseidon Adventure," was also another of his films.
Your photo gives the effect of metal burning and is very appropriate for the movie. Another good entry into SNATM.
The textures look great. 👍👍

The Towering Inferno was a great movie with lots of drama and an all star cast...I think I also read the book back in the day...you've certainly portrayed the raging heat and deteriorated metal here quite well...excellent, Kathy!

At full screen size, I had the intention to call the fire brigade, Kathy (😁). Just kidding of course.
Your splendid creation however is an excellent contribution for the SNATM topic (🎥) . Very well done (per usual)!

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Yeah yeah, enough about the film, tell us about the photo. :)
What is it of? How did you find the subject matter? What made you decide to take the photo? Was there any post-processing done? What did you capture the image with? Was there anything hard about getting the shot? These are the things we also want to know.
