This is a native wildflower in my state and throughout much of North America. It grows up to 4' tall and despite it's name can be quite an aggressive grower in the garden. It makes nice cut flowers and can be cultivated as the one in the shot is. It's other name is False Dragonhead.

I have seen them around here Kathy. I just didn't know what they were.
Thanks for the great shot and the information.

Unusual for me. Nice close-up of this "sometimes disobedient" plant and its lovely white flowers Kathy.

Kathy, the Physostegia virginiana in my country is called 'hinge flower', because if one pushes a flower stalk of the Physostegia aside, it will stay that way and will never return, 😜 .
Thanks for another great floral shot!
