This painted lady may be a little battered as shown on her right wing but she's still fueling for her migratory journey. She better be off as we are going down to the upper 30's tonight - coldest night so far.
Looks like it might be having a last feast before takeoff Kathy. Hopefully her wings keep her airborn. Looks great with the blue/indigo flowers. It's cold here as well.
Kathy, if the weather forecast comes true, hope that this Painted Lady is meanwhile on its way to warmer regions, else it probably won't survive, the more its right wing is already damaged somewhat. Perfectly taken shot. The chosen angle for it couldn't be chosen any better.

I agree with Jeff, the colors are so striking in this wonderful capture, and even though she has some damage, she is still beautiful! Very good capture with your camera, and I wish her a safe journey, hopefully she is on her way. tigs=^..^=
