These are blooming spectacularly right now in my area. These particular ones are against a high brick wall on the property where I live. We've always called them snowball hydrangea but I'm sure there is is a more official name for them.

^Lovely^ is the word and description that comes to my mind. They make for a pretty snappy photograph as well.

Could be the Hydrangea arborescens, also known as Annabelle Hydrangea, Kathy.
