That's an unfortunate name for a very perky and pretty fall flower. It's a member of the Helenium family.

Very pretty - little baby sunflowers. The are reflecting the sunshine back at us !
The name Sneezeweed originates from the old use of the dried leaves to make snuff :)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

They definitely look like they should have smiling faces on them. An unusual range of hues of orange and yellow in such a tight grouping. I have to wonder if my wife would be sinus-allergic to these wee beauties, as she is to the full blown sunflowers? I once had an assignment to shoot from inside a sunflower field and picked one that required me to bring a 4-step ladder in with me, in order to see and shoot above the 9-10-foot-tall stems. They were packed fairly close so by the time I got back to the pickup I had so much yellow powder on me that I looked like the worlds largest bumble bee. To compensate, I had her drive the truck for a bit, on the country section roads, while I brushed myself off in the wind.
