Don't know either, Els. It's an impressive sight however.
Although taken through the window of a plane, it's a good one!

Doesn't matter as long as the pilot knows where he is Els :) Interesting view of the barren mountains and the stray clouds.

Taken from your airplane? When I first saw this I naturally assumed that you were in Superman's arms just like Lois Lane. Fine shot. Time to strap on your skis and parachute.

Dorothy Michaels: No, just Dorothy. Alan's always Alan, Tom's always Tom and John's always John. I have a name too. It's Dorothy, capital D-O-R-O-T-H-Y.

I don't know what photo manipulation software you have, Twink, but I pulled a copy to my desktop, opened it in Photoshop, and gave it a single tweak in Auto Levels and a 80% tweak in Smart Sharpen, and wow!, I'm seeing the natural colors of the mountain rock, contrasting sharply with the snow and clouds. And now that I'm looking closer at it, particularly at that very sharp ridge line running across the photo, near the bottom, I see a strong resemblance between mountain construction and a napped piece of flint, the way Indians historically fabricated their arrow and dart points. But I wouldn't have made that connection without seeing your photo, so thank you for sharing it. I now see that you've entered it into the current contest so, good luck.
