Nobody has cared for this house for a LONG time, since a spruce has grown up through the front porch. You have to crawl under it to get in.

the harsh contrasts in colour and light really make this shot - the colour really reflects the bleakness of the place very well. great work.

And in I would have gone! I think the angle you took it from still makes it seem stately. That pine tree the most charming decoration.

I'm not sure why but I haven't seen many of your postings...and I was looking at your gallery, you are quite the photographer. I really like what you see. And this photo is outstanding. It has such a strong sad feeling about it. That tree growing as it did, and us knowing no one has been there in a long time. I would love to live in that old house. Oh the things a person can do with it! Its beautiful that you took the photo, I hope someday you might be able to back to it and take a few more photos of different parts and with different angles. Thank you so much for this posting...very very lovely!..verena

So sad that this beautiful old house is abandoned. I agree with Verena, I would love to live there and the thought of decorating this house just sends goosebumps up my spine. I can guess that it has very tall ceilings and a huge fireplace that would make this a most warm and toasty place in the winter.I'll probably dream of this house tonight. Thank you for sharing. :)

Abosulutely dreamy shot. The blurry look is very appropriate for it and you have captured this place in a very good angle.

This is a great capture Elin. The tree at the door is a priceless 'find' in this image. The only thing I would change would be to see the entire house. The bit that is cut-off on the right makes me want to see the rest of the abandoned house! Anyway, this is still a really cool still life and I have dowloaded this to my favorites folder on my harddrive. You have good contrast and good color as well as clarity. Thanks :~)

Yes, the tree really did grow through the porch. My father is acually thinking of bying the place, though it wound take a lot of work to fix it up. I saw the inside of the house and it isn't pretty most of it is totally collapsed.

This house has the same design as the one I used to peek at when spending my summers at our cabin when I was a kid.
I still remember the feeling of looking into those small upper windows, and the feeling of someone, or something, watching back. Creepy.
Nice one, brought back memories!

That's really cool about the spruce coming in the front door actually. I can't say I'd much like it to live in, but it looks really neat.
