I stayed in a beach house at Manzanita Beach, Or. for a few days. And this mountain was the view along with the Pacific. There is a story that there is still hidden treasure somewhere near the base of the mountain from a pirate ship of long ago. I think this is such a pretty scene and hope you enjoy it also...please leave some comments...

Art is the perception of the creator. Meaning is the perception of the viewer. acceptance is the perception of society.

Great scenery Verena. So nostalgic and serene. The hint of haze in the background gives a sense of depth to this magnificent vista. Thank you.

What a stunning view you've shared with us. Someday I'll have to visit it the west coast. You don't find the same vistas on the east coast. Thanks for sharing.

Very pretty and quite dramatic with the flatness of the beach and the enormity of the mountain against the sky...great job, Verena...I agree with Clayton...your work is showing much more skill and depth as time goes on...good for you.:Pat.

Excellent capture. I like the way my eye is lead around to see all the various parts of the image. I eventually stopped and wondered if you ventured out to the point of land where the cave is? I would like you to see that;-)

Everything is right in this photograph, there's even a hole in the rock.
Only one thing is seriously missing: I am here and you are there!
Bad thing though, I was planning to reward you with an 11, but now I have to stick to 10.
Better luck next time!

What a captivating view, I love the way the side of the mountain looks with all the pine trees, and the water rushing up to meet the waiting sand. Great job Verena! =]

Wow, that is a really cool image! I have been to Manzanita a couple times and this really captures the feeling of the beach. It may seem akward, but the bush's in the courner actually make the photo look better.......maybe that just me ;-). Good job!

Oh wow, this is pretty. Luv those various colors in the moutains and I like the little bit of brown grasses in the lower ight. It gives the whole thing a pleasing balance.
So, there is buried treasure at the base of the mountain? I'll be there with my shovel directly. Meanwhile, I will admire the fantastic capture you made of yet another gorgeous beach scene.

Hello Verena....This picture reminds so much of our Cornish coastline....I do like the way you have used the cliffs to take ones eye into the picture...The small piece of land in the foreground really helps to give a distance in this picture....Well done...All the best...Mick.
