I posted this once long ago, but thought I would bring it back around. It's such a unique little "shack" It's actually a hollow tree trunk, and someone put a part of a roof and door on it...It has no floor..just the leftover inside of the tree trunk..I think it's leaning like that due to being pretty old and kind of weatherbeaten, but am not sure. Well, give me your comments please and thanx for looking...

You gotta admire the ingenuity of mankind don’t you. I wonder what they used it for, a tool shed? Anyway it’s a unique and interesting image you have here. I’m pleased to have seen it. Merry Christmas Verena.

There are three colours, Ten digits and seven notes, its what we do with them that’s important. Ruth Ross

Probably a fantasy playhouse for kids, once upon a time. Now a great photographic subject. And this is a great photograph.

Now here is a target that makes it hard for the photographer to fail. But there are of course elements that can be done wrong. And you haven't.
Composition eases the eye, the actual target is given the size it demands as the single most interesting object in the scene.
Only thing I could complain about is the wire running behind the shack, it cuts away the feeling of freedom. But that is something you can't do anything about.
And besides, when I think about it, it does look like it belongs. The wire, I mean.
I'll give this a niner.

I agree, the wire belongs. All else well also well deserving of the 10/10.

And I see the beginnings of a new tree inside. Makes me wonder what it will look like in a ten years with the old one wraped around it like a skirt with a door in it. A beautiful and original find

This is a wonderful image, very special. I like old stuff like this. What was this tree-house ment to be? ..an outhouse, or something else? Have you more old houses to share with us? / HJ

Well, I'll tell ya what, somebody sure has a sense of humor. I would say is has been done to look like an outhouse. It's not? I wouldn't want to step inside that "tree trunk".
A truly unique find. and a good clear, sharp capture of it.

...and when they were finished building it they stood back and thought that this was a job well done: and for a while it was, but now it is just left to the ages.

Verena, this is one of my most favorite photos on the net! I saw this 2 or 3 yrs ago and downloaded it, printed it and was considering using it for an ink drawing! That was before I got intersted in photography and was just downloading photos from Caedes to use as desktops or consider for drawings. Since I now know who posted this, cause I lost the other one, would it be ok with you if I did use it for a drawing? It might never happen but want to ask. How big was the interior of the shack? Was it really a hollowed out tree? Was there anything else inside? So cool! And I just noticed that you are a poet also! You are really talented! I'd like to read a poem! Amazing how people meet, isn't it! I don't believe in accidents! You have a great day tomorrow! Allen
