Here is the photo of Haystack Rock, at Cannon Beach, Or. My dear friend Marilyn had requested I posted this one, as she feels it's a good one to choose for a contest I've entered. It's always been one of her favorites. But I have had some good response for it. Its the largest monolith in America. At the base of it are many tidepools, when the tide is out. And many seals and seabirds love this as their home. I took this photo from high above the Rock at Ecola State Park. Let me know what you think. Tomorrow I'll post two more.At the end of December I'll find out if I won anything in the contest, would sure be nice!... Thanx so much for stopping by.

You sure make it hard to evaluate which shot is the best. This is super, as are the others.

A well captured shot of a beautiful place. This picture should be used in a travel magazine.

I love this reminds me a bit of Rio though without the skyscrapers. This is getting tough to pick. Quite hard to decided my favourite for the day but I`m going to go with this one as I picked the sunset yesterday. I look forward to seeing the final two tomorrow.

I don't know, Verena. After seeing the first view of this one that got a 92 on this site, I'd have to say that it's a very tough call and this one and the one you posted earlier are now my faves!!

Well, after looking at all four photos- this one or the Columbia Gorge one would be my pic. I'm leaning more toward this one. Great shot!

Mimi was right! This is an excellent sot. The framing is perfection. The tree on the right brings it all together and adds to the beautiful scenery.

Hi Verena...

This is it!! You know very well my dear...that this is my first choice...and most favorite of all of your photos....You remember from the past...don't you?...If this one does not win the contest...none other will...;O) I view this photo of the Pacific ocean....as the most energetic of seas.....an ocean...that expresses excitement and beauty beyond......

To be serious my dear...I sincerely believe... that this is the 'winner'....I hope you choose to place this very special piece of art Verena... This will be a challenge to all who enter....and I will surely bet...you will win.. the contest....'all hands down'....

Be sure to let me know the outcome....;o) And good luck... my friend!

Marilyn

P.S.

Hope I have helped...and thank you for asking......;o)

There are a lot of elements in this shot which is usually problematic. Your framing and overall balanced composition overcomes this problem quite well. Nice work.

I think this is a brilliant shot!
The stark, hardness of nature with a soft light and interesting perspective.
Great composition..I love the mist in the background and the wonderful tree in the foreground.
The sea is well caught in motion..into my favs.
