You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

Oh Hilda you just made me catch my breath with this one. I'm so glad you found it again. What an absolutely superb image - you have done that rare thing and rendered me speechless. Just gorgeous. I wonder if he was aware that he was part of such a beautiful scene.

I like it a lot! I think it would be great as a long shot too, with the bottom water cropped out and some of the dark so the top and bottom bands are the same width. (that's probably really confusing...sorry) But its really great as is, so why bother! I think he's gonna catch his limit. ;)
You have such a great eye for composition. I am taking richwn's opinion into account, but even though it might turn out just fine, it wouldn't be the same photo, so I say :) Leave it as it is and leave the guy alone. He may be worth his weight in gold if he can find pond like this to fish in!! I'd stick with him.
"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon
Wonderful silo'd image, Hilda. I can relate well to the lone fisherman. I have many shots of my husband with rod in hand and otherwise lost in the moment. Beautiful capture!
