This concludes the pictures from my trip to Mt. Whitney. I took your suggestions, mainly to work on illuminating the foreground trees. Turned otu to be really easy with just a fill light adjustment and a slight increase to exposure. Couldn't push it too far though without things looking out of whack. PJ, I didn't have time to experiment with HDR but it is still on my todo list. Also cropped it a bit to get the peak in the upper left third and Yosemite valley descending to the lower right third. Lines, Patti... :) If you have extra time, download the 3000 pixel version and peruse the details of the granite face of Clouds Rest. There is a straightforward trail to the summit from behind the mountain, but don't you think it'd be a bit more exciting to climb it from this side?

Looks good, but who could go wrong with a scene like this? I'm up for a hike anytime you and Patti want to take me along :)

WOW!! Havn't seen anything like this on here, and this place is swamped with Mountain pics. When I came across this on the V.B. I instantly set it as my background and threw it into my faves!
No need to tell ya what score I gave.. Very nice colors, I love how the foreground brings your eye into the Mounatinous horizon. Keep up the good work. -

yes, wonderful lines Jon - I like what you did here - the composition is excellent. I am still trying to master the fill flash myself - if my automatic setting says I need it, then I use my own settings and experiment with and without, so I can compare. I often take the same shot with two or three different settings - always trying to get it right! :) ...and you can tell from the comments above that this is a great shot!

Very nice. I have a shot very similar to this, but this one is much better as it was very hazy on the day I stood in this spot.
