This afternoon I have made this photograph at a recreation place and true nature superb is. The butterfly continued all that time sit this way that I could make several photograph. Also still then a bumblebee came sit. A little bit history: Thistle butterfly (Chyntia cardui). The first examples of this appetite butterfly usually arrive at our in the month of May. These is originating from South-Europa and perhaps even, however, from North Africa. So that they have therefore a travel of more than 1000 km behind the back. In some years they are scarce, but in good years there are observed more than 10,000. The thistle butterfly is a powerful aviator. During the appetite its average speed is about 15 km per hour. Some thistle butterflies even reach Iceland. Wing tension: 50-60 mm. Enjoy!

this is so beautiful. i really like the background, and how much it compliments the thistle and makes it stand out at the same time. the colors are so beautiful, especially the butterfly! you actually made the thistle look pretty, despite them being very painful to walk through. the entire image is so sharp and crisp and clean and detailed, great work! ~abby

Wil, you're at it again. This is truly remarkable work. So sharp and rich. Your framing is very complimentary. Thank you for educating us about the butterfly as well. Just a wonderful contribution. Blessings, anne -)
