The Klondike Brook in Klondike Notch, between Yard Mtn and Phelps Mtn. Adirondack Park, New York, August 21, 2004.

I fixed the original I uploaded this morning. A slight rotation to the image, and removed some bare branches from the corner that were distracting. (Thanks Klas and BJ)

1/4s at f/8 with Canon S1 IS, no tripod. (credit to both a ski pole and the IS system =D )

Flawless fix in my opinion. No way twigs were ever in this shot! Klas must have been seeing things, huh? ;)- Rotation made a big difference to me though. This shot was too gorgeous not to touch up. I'm glad you took the time and I'll enjoy it on my desktop. I like the hint of red leaves on the right too.

Thanks again, BJ. I had noticed the rotation after I'd uploaded the first. I tried to write it off as the curve of the river, but... I went back to a larger version, rotated and cropped a little so there was less twig to edit. Err, umm... no twigs... :-p

Beautiful shot Mike. I was looking for any descreptancies but I found none! Wonderful edit

I think it's beautiful.
I'm "studying" myself . . .
Concentration is completely alien to me unless something is very interesting. Even with no distractions. Though if I find anything interesting I seem to be able to concentrate through anything at all, all at once . . .
So you can see how much studying I actually get done.

It's a few miles from the car with rain that morning, so you may not actually want to be there. Enjoy studying; it's better than graduating and sitting around clueless about what to do next! =D

Milo: IS stands for Image Stabilizer, which means the camera "acts by moving an image stabilizer module at the rear of the lens to counteract vibration or movement of the camera." So if your hand moves a little while the shutter is open, an element in the lens moves opposite you to keep the image steady on the sensor.

Thank you all for taking a look and commenting!

Without tripod??? Wow! Very nice shot. I also have an AS (Anti-Shaking) system on my Minolta Dimage A1. Excellent :-)

Really a beautiful image. I always loved these types of water shoots making it look silky and whispy. Wonderful composition and full of life. High marks from me, and thanks for sharing.

This is quite beautiful. Colors are so vivid and pleasing, but I wouldn't want to live there! Too darned cold for my old bones!

Thank you very much, Dave, Cam, and Mary. I may be slow to respond, but I'm always very happy to hear people have enjoyed my photos. You're right about cold, Mary, while this was August, the forecast for that evening had lows in the 30's. Part of the reason we were heading out rather than spend another night in the lean-to!

Great shot, expecially with no tripod. Those delayed exposures never turn out right for me without one. Do you know if the Konica Minolta Dimage G530 comes with one of those IS thingies? I sure haven't found it...
