This picture is composed of photos taken over the hours of the eclipse, October 27th, 2004. (The Moon did not move in this manner, I ordered the photos in a pattern I thought would be interesting)

Photos taken with Canon Powershot S1 IS, all at 58mm (380mm equivalent), 100% crops. You can read our discussion about it here.

Thanks a lot, Darryl and Dimitry. Getting up to see clouds must have been rough, I know I lucked out. Eastern US had the perfect timing, and the clouds that did come through only lasted long enough to scare me that I wouldn't see enough of the show. I'm really glad I was able to get the shots and share with you all.

Very cool! Could you image the havoc if the moon did indeed move in this way! ha! I'm quite aggrivated with myself because I fell asleep during the eclipse! *sigh* Thanks for being vigilant and capturing this for those of us that missed it, and thanks for bringing it to our attention on the discussion board in the first place!

A very nice composition, fortunately I did get to see it.
And this is a nice reminder of the splendor of the universe.

This is a treasure and a masterpiece. It's quite obvious alot more went into this than grabbing your camera in the middle of the night. Thoughtful planning and admirable commitment.

I'm so glad you did this! I was still awake during the eclipse, but alas it was cloudy. Very creative arrangement. Thank you.

So all that was going on above all that rain I had? The features show nicely even in shadow. Glad you were in a position to do this.

A great way to look at all of the moon's phases as it went through the eclipse. Interesting work.

This takes some skill! I've got an old canon somewhere with a 400mm lens and a 2x magnifer with it - I'm sure I can get a shot with that detail, although I would never be able to take it with that skill. I love the way you can see the process of the eclipse - outstanding. The focus is good, and I must say I like the pattern. However, I do wish that you had placed the images in the way the moon moved - it would give a much better view of our surroundings and and inclin to how it works! Anyway, still undoubtedly a fantastic piece of work, and will be an addition to my favourites!
