I went out to get the lawnmower, and spooked this beautiful bird from the bushes. I raced back inside to get the camera, and he (or she) let me take a ton of photos from it's perch high in a Maple. I'm still pretty excited about seeing this bird, let alone being able to get pictures.

I've seen already some nice pictures of owl's here on Caedes and this one again hits the top :).
I don't know what it is with owls on photo's but it seems that they are always fotogeniek (I hope I used the good word :) ).
I never saw a owl in the wild only in zoo's :(

Beautiful shot of this rearly seen bird Mike. I can't believe he stayed there to watch you invade his privacy. You must have a way with birds. High marks!

Amazing shot, Mike! Great quality to this photo and I love how he (or she) is looking right at the camera. They are such beautiful birds and the surrounding fall foliage just adds to the shot. Stunning!

I've lived many places and I've yet to see an owl in the wild. A fortunate experience for you. I like how the tree's bark color compliments the coloring in the owl. Also appreciate the off center composition and fall colors.

This is fantastic. Extermely good shot. I like owls because they hold a kind of mystery about them. I rarely see any, nor do I go to places where they live. I love seeing those types of animals in the wild. Good shot, and thanks for sharring your find.

Ummmmmmmm, talk about opportunity knocking your door down. What a capture. Luv the rich colors. I know you are far more adept than I am with a camera but I think I would try to lighten up a hair, just the area around the owl's eyes to bring out a little more detail.
A top shot my friend. High marks and on my desktop it goes.
