Long Island sunset on an exceptionally warm day in winter. Please comment, good or bad, and vote if you like. I'm new at this and trying to learn as much as I can. All help is appreciated. Thanks for looking! Carol
Great, clear shot. The water has a neat texture, like liquid metal, and I like the reeds silhouetted in the foreground. However, the horizon has a slight tilt that you could fix in an editor. Composition-wise, I wish the ground beneath the reeds were a little more irregular (less of a straight line).
Beautiful shot this one is. I like the reflections and the completely matching color scheme. You have done a good compostion too. Get out and get some more like this :)
Excellent shot, especially being new at it...I can't honestly find anything to criticize about it...gorgeous lighting and reflections and all nicely balanced...very well done...and thanks for sharing...on my desktop today and a welcome one at that with the freezing rain outside my window.:Pat.
Hi Carol! What a beautiful golden sunset that you have captured. I love the reeds in the foreground. It adds so much drama and depth to the image. The sun's golden rays on the the water make it appear like fiery gemstones. The only thing I might have done is rotated the image a few degrees to the right to level out the horizon. Otherwise, I think this shot has found a home on my desktop to chase away the winter cold and I am also going to store it in my favorite's folder on my harddrive so I can have it whenever I want it!
thanks for the recent visit to my gallery and ~caught in the act~. These critters drive us crazy in the spring and the summer. We have to bring in the birdseed at night because not only do they eat all of it, but they destroy the entire bird feeder to get the very last seed out!!!! This one was quite brazen & didn't begin hissing at me until I had snapped several pictures. I told him that was the price of stealing.....he had to stay still for his "photo shoot". You are right though, there is nothing like seeing these animals in their natural habitat! Glad you could enjoy his visit with me!!! Drop by anytime, the door is always open and coffee is on :~)
This is beautiful. The wild grass really sets off this sunset and gives it so much more depth! Great colors and hues in the sky and reflection...good work!
Your new at what? It sure ain't photography. What a fantastic photo. Is this all natural or did you run it througha photo editor? It's still purty either way. Congrats.
I normally will visit a member's profile and then take a quick look at their galleries to get a sense and feel for one, the age of the person I am addressing in my comments, and two, a take on their creative bent, if you will.
So, and I quote, "I'm new at this and trying to learn as much as I can."
I then went to look at your 'gallery' and the page that opened up to me was filled ... filled with allll these absolutely gorgeous sunsets and sunrises. I glanced down to see that there were, in fact, 55 pages of these spectacular images and thought ... ohhh, ok ... a little joke by the artist.
However, I was wondering why I had not come across your work before given the volume. Well ...
Instead of clicking on your gallery, I inadvertently clicked on the category. Oopsie. Is my face golden ...
I wish. I wish it was as golden as this glorious image.
At least I got a few facts right in my preamble ... "absolutely gorgeous sunset(s)," "spectacular image(s)." What a sight to behold. Stunning in it's beauty, contemplative in it's feel for me; quietly so and technically, a superb shot. Adjust the horizontal tilt as mimi says, and there are no ... no faults at all with this work of yours. And even then, it ... is ... no ... biggie. Minor, if that.
Congratulations on a fine, fine shot. It literally made me log back onto the site, so I could leave, ahem, a few words annnnd ... put into my favs. Thanks for sharing. :))
