3rd update - added a simple graphic for the "Caedes.net" header, inserted the Caedes Spider logo, and adjusted margins and colours a bit more. See it at http://www.traweb.com/test/caedes/

This is one of the best proposed layouts for a clean design which emphasizes images over text (which I prefer). Gets my vote.

This one is really good, only thing i could say is prolly move the spider from the top left, maybe a larger one beneath the title text, it just looks out of place where it is. And yeah, the scrolling online users box was cool...

well done!

I really like the image borders. Nice work.

Very clean and stable design, I like it, but what is with the glass filter or whatever on the header?

It is bad luck to be superstitious.

mckinleysh - there's no filter, it's the font that's just like that, with those blurred edges. I don't remember its name or what I got it from, but it looked nice enough for that layout.

Thanks again to everyone who voted and commented! :)

I'll be posting an instance of the same layout as applied to a single image + discussion page.

temmink - I removed the scrollbox because it displayed with some quirks in IE... I just couldn't get the margins for that to work the same way across all browsers - I guess I could, but it would take me more time for testing than I can afford at the moment :) -, so, for now at least, I'll use a normal box. Of course the scrollbox can always be put back later!

I've added another example of the same layout applied to a different page - go to http://traweb.com/test/caedes/ and click on the 'Alley' thumbnail, it will take you to http://traweb.com/test/caedes/image.html where you can see the layout as applied to each image page with comments...

I've posted a screenshot of it separately. Let me know what you guys think of that one. (Warning: it might have some margins behaving oddly in IE and/or under Win, haven't had time to test for cross-browser compatibility yet)
