Around here, these purple flowers are called weeds. We have 'em everywhere, and they're usually in open fields full of foxtails, which I believe is that tan plant behind the purple flowers.

Critique: Looks pretty darn good to me. Great colors, another fabulous cloudy sky, very good detail in the petals. Normally I'd say there's too much sky, but it seems to work well in this pastoral scene. I'll bet this'll be downloaded for many desktops. Very serene. 6.75 out of 10.

---Not so sure about this one---

Can understand your doubts, DP. It's just a matter of taste.
I do like this post however, because of the combination of deep flower tones at a threathening sky background.
