I'm not sure if I like the way I'm currently going about deciding which images to remove to save space. Right now I'm going by the pints onlined here, however I think everyone will agree that there is too much room for personal preference to get in the way. The problem is that there is basically no way to assign an unbiased 'quality number' to an artwork. I don't like being in the position of deciding what is and what isn't art. Are there any good ideas of how we can automate the process of cleaning out the image galleries?
On another note, I was thinking about a different way to go about deleting an image. Instead of just removing every trace of its existance from the database, I'm thinking about just deleting the main image but leaving the thumbnail and the record of it in the database. That way the image will still appear in your personal gallery. When the thumbnail is clicked it will take you to the deleted image note. It just won't appear in the main gallery and it won't be taking up as much disk space.
How do these two ideas sound?
