For Nikon users who've upgraded to Windows Vista and discovered that their RAW format files are no longer readable in applications such as Photoshop, help is at hand. The camera maker has published a new codec patch, that you can download from its web site. This patch lets Vista recognize RAW files shot on a Nikon camera that haven't been edited in third-party software. Previously, the images became unreadable in third-party software such as Photoshop.
