I recieved a notice today that one of my photos was promoted to the permanent galleries. This got me thinking about the recent changes to the promotion system and the nature of the Main Galleries. So I had a look around and found a few references to the "permanent" galleries that could be updated or pruned to help remove the idea that the Main Galleries are eternally permanent.

Message sent to members when the Caedes Art Council votes an image into the main galleries :
-The image "??" has been promoted to the permanent galleries by the Caedes Art Council .

From the FAQ section - What is the c-index?
-The c-index is not used to decide whether or not an image is promoted to the permanent image collection nor...

Perhaps time to retire or update this as well as it has recently become quite obsolete though still humorous.
