When I first got into Caedes, I was intrigued by the c-index system.
It was a numerical quantifier to comments and critiques.
So I had this strange notion that as I tried to improve my photographic skills, based upon comments, that images would be more polished and presentable, appealing to the compositional aspirations of a desktop picture resource. Then logically, the c-index ratings would improve too.
But the c-index system seems to have a mind of its own.
And with the ability to now see exactly the rating given, it rubs insults deep into those delicate ego membranes, to see numbers under 5.
You try to ignore the ignoble votes, toughen up the skin and just enjoy the comments from friends.
But it appears from other postings in this quiet corner of the site that the biggest irritant of this wonderful site is the bloody c-index voting system.
Perhaps borrow an idea from Facebook and have a '# likes'/'#dislikes' c-index system or just retire it altogether.
