Where has my work gone?

I put a picture up here of my kitten. I can't imagine any rules it would break. Do you clear your databases once in a while or was it just deleted?

I imagine it was considered a snapshot. When a picture is taken that doesn't seem to have any artistic purpose, it is considered a snapshot and is often removed.

The goal here is art, not showing off pictures of pets, even though some good pet pictures can be considered art.

Frances ... if it is your pic of "Lukas" that you are referring to ... you can, if you wish, petition one of the image mods.

You can find them through the left hand side menu under "Other Stuff" and then go to the contact pages (send a PM to one of the team members that have a '+' or a '&' attached to their name) ... and enquire as to whether or not the image was removed as per the snapshot policy.

I remember that pic and it was a good one. Emotive, well focussed ... I hope I am not getting your hopes up ... but, it might be worth a try to find out the reason for the removal of the photo.

The site is undergoing some changes and you may have got caught up in those changes ... and nothing more. Nothing personal, rest assured. :o)

Thanks for your answer. It certainly wasn't a snapshot.. but oh well. I thought this was a place to share your pictures and get better at the skill, but I guess not if you only accept masterpieces. I'll have to go find another site >_< Thanks to anyone who commented on my work.

Frank, it isn't about masterpieces, it is about images that are suitable for wallpaper. There have been many discussion about images of children, grandchildren, pets etc. that fall under what most consider a 'snapshot'.
I did not see the image in question, but Les had the reasonable resolution. Please ask one of the image moderators and find out why before you decide to leave the site. No one here is perfect nor do they pretend to be....I hope you are able to make a decision based on solid facts instead of hurt feelings.
You will be missed if you leave ;=)

Ahh Frances ... sorry to hear that you feel that way. :o(

I don't know what you are feeling ... but, rest assured it is not about whether or not the image was a masterpiece. (I thought it was. :o) )

I had my first image ... ever ... that I posted archived, which isn't as drastic as what happened in your situation ... but, it did bother me ... for a bit.

Why not let some time pass ... and see how you feel. It's never a good idea to make a quick decision in the 'heat of the moment,' if you will.

Your "Guitar & sunlight" is an excellent shot, as is your "skateboard tilt."

Read those comments that you received on your images ... think about it some more.

I sincerely hope you reconsider ... and yes, even if I don't 'see' your work all the time, nor if you do not 'see' me all the time in your galleries ... there are lots of people that are enjoying your work. I know that.

If I may, I do believe it is worth investigating to see why the image was removed. Something can be learned from this ... and it may be a simple human error.

Take some time ... think about it ... that's all. 'K? :o))
