I was poking around the "other stuff" page and finally got around to clicking on this .. New Artists

could it be considered moving this to the front in some way .. even as a "job" .. perhaps people could "opt in" on their profile page to be included in this job .. kind of like a welcoming party, if you will ..

I think it could be a job for a couple of mods or volunteer mods (if they still exist).. I get on there and welcome the new artists once a week either on their profile page or in a pm... doesn't take much to do..

I just think it would be a good idea if there was at least one person nominated to the position so that every new artist would get an official welcome, then anyone else who wants to say hi & welcome would be an added bonus..

If it was opened as a job .. an "opt in" job .. there would be MANY people (*gulp*) I hope .. that would sign up .. 100's, 1000's .. tens of thousands ... think of it .. the line would run for miles

I would kinda like to see Les and Curt do it. We would find out how serious the new comers are about being here. We could call them the Asylum Doormen.

the new artists feature is useful if for nothing else than to weed out rippers and copyright violators - never any shortage there. im not sure as to the wisdom of letting the lunatics welcoming new patients to the asylum :-)

Oh well.. you can all do whatever you want.. i'll still welcome the new people.. because strange as it may be.. not everyone who comes on here is going to turn into a ripper or copyright violator.. and a friendly hand into the site doesnt hurt in fact it shows that the site IS friendly... but thats just my opinion... carry on with what you were waffling about.. i've had my say...
