Hmmm... I'm not sure if this makes my decision easier or harder. Certainly are a few differing opinions. But at least I know a bit more than before after reading through that. I still think the D70 sounds like the best deal for me, but I am planning on taking a photography course soon which should help further in my decision. Thanks for posting this.

I agree, from that forum it sounds like the majority of positiveness is with the D70! You can't go wrong with the D1 either;-)

Well that certainly tips the balance in it's favor... any idea of price or availability PM? Mayne, how much more expensive is the D1? Like, 2x, 3x etc...
