yep - flickr (and yahoo in general) definitely seem to have a 'morality code is for other people' attitude - just try and get one of your ripped photos removed from their sites - you'd have more chance selling your soul to the devil or finding a cure for the common cold.
I think the last time I tried - i got a 'dude, this is the internet - share and steal alike' style response.
I found the following comment in the second link of that post. Politics and whatnot aside, anyone care to comment on the body of what was said? Accurate? Or just worldly cynicism?

[comment buried, show commenthide comment] + 93 diggs @fkr3 - It seems you are obviously deluded, thinking your American laws extend beyond your national borders (Christ knows your government suffers from the same problem). The DMCA doesn't apply to a British company, nor does it protect an Icelandic photographer.
see 'dude, this is the internet - share and steal alike' - typical moronic net attitude - stealing something from someone in another country doesnt make it legit. thats why we have international law as well as national law :-)
rebba rubbed website wrong way - tosses TOS out with the bathwater
do you .. Yahoo?
