I need Help with this pic.. I don't know whether it was the light at the time i took the pic or if its something wrong with the camera.. all the pics I took have really heavy contrast *no I haven't fiddled with anything.. I even tried using it on automatic and it still came out the same.. I'd really appreciate any suggestions as to how to fix it both with the camera and photoshop..
Thanks..
ps.. just had a look at some I shot the other day and they are the same.. heavy looking contrast..
The image seems to be on the supersaturated side which is giving the appearance of over contrast. Are you looking for a more natural color appearance or just to decrease the contrast?
My first thought was that it was over saturated too. I saw what Darryl wrote on your pic & although I couldn't see any lens flare in the clouds, but I'm sorry hon, I just don't have a clue. *hug*
Hi Jac, I'll send you a photoshop file you can fiddle with. Once you desaturate some, you will actually need to add contrast back in, but the file I set up for you has a good portion of the sky deselected in a layer mask because those changes blow out that area.
edit: I also created a Selective Color layer to modify the greens/yellows because the grass needs some red in it and a little less yellow to look natural.
I think that the contrast range of the scene was too wide for your sensor to handle or any sensor. Using a graduated neutral density filter when you take the photo is the best way to handle a scene like that. Its much easier than trying to fix it in software.
Thanks Robert.. I thought it had something to do with the contrast.. i've never had a problem like this before.. so now it will have to wait til next October to redo the pics..
Thanks..
