hey i'd hate to make this look like a way to make people look at my photos but i have this one picture ( http://www.caedes.net/Zephir.cgi?lib=Caedes::Infopage&image=inspiron-1080432947.jpg ) and i may be no photogropher but i think it is the best picture i ever took and it is a mystery to me why it only has a c index of 47 and NO i don't want people to go review it and may be vote on ot but i just want to know why it did so poorly so i can take better shots in the future

The low rating would be due more to the subject matter than the composition/skill etc. Images that include people are generally less popular as desktops I think.

The photo could also use a dose of contrast to make the colors stand out a bit more. It looks too dark and cloudy to me.

agree with both, could use brightness and contrast. Also not many users want images of people they dont know for their desktop. Maybe if this was taken at the olympics or something it would have done better, know what I mean? Also it is a good action photo but lacks excitement, the colors are a bit undersaturated and there is no crowd cheering or another element to spark excitement from the viewer since they are not linked to the actual runners. Its a good shot tho, clear and in good focus, especially for an action shot.

yes i i under stand now, there ae only two people watching and they don't seem too enthusastic and it was't much of a sunny day (i don't edit my pictures)

well sinnce cross country has come around i was wondering if any one would be intrested in a picture of about 30 to 250 runners lined up on a real big starting line line out in a park with a about 100 people on the side cheering them on with your truely somewhere in the picture :^)

I still think you would find it wouldn't rate as well as say, a nice landscape, sunset or CGI background. But certainly, upload it; just remember that when most people vote/download they are wanting something that makes a good desktop. However the regular members (like me) do appreciate seeing something different.
