Lense dilema

I use a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 - my ambition to own a SLR camera is only a VERY remote possibility so I have considered buying some extra lenses for it. Available (althought not readily it seems in NZ, would have to be via Internet I think) are:
LT55 Tele Conversion Lens
DMW-LW55 Wide Conversion Lens
DMW-LC55 Close-up Lens
Plus I would have to get a conversion lens adapter.
Do you think it is worth the expense? Or would it better put the funds towards an upgrade which I probably would not know how to use.

Thanks for posting this Eve. I, too, shoot with a Panasonic DMZ FZ20 and have the same issue. I look forward to reading the input! ;=)

Hey you two...you just hit lucky!!..

I use a FZ50..and have those lenses that you mention, also a set of close-up filters too..along with cable release and so on!..

My daughter-in-law, found them on Ebay..(I gave her the model numbers)...I bought all of these from a vender in 'China'...(A Photographic Shop!)...All for less, a lot less!! than £100..(Sorry, you will have to convert that!)...
I received them within a week...and now use them regularly...they are good and shoot great images....

Just type in e-bay..(If you are new to this!)..the Panasonic make..and then follow through with the attachment numbers!...

I was amazed at how quick it was..and best of all...a helluva lot cheaper too!...

Following Bob's advice and guidance I just made my FIRST ever purchase on eBay - 52mm 0.45x Wide Angle for Panasonic at a cost of 13.99 GBP postage 12 GBP. Free gift of a UV Filter included.
I hope when it arrives I can work out what to do with it and it does not become a companion for my unused tripod :)
All that excitement now I need a cup of tea and a lie down.
Thanks Bob !
Mimi - worth having a look :)

LynEve - I also shoot with a Panasonic camera, but a different model. I purchased different lenses and had great fun photographing all kinds of Stuff! The more I used it, the more I learned thru experience. It took me about a year to discover that "I needed more" than my comfortable Panasonic buddy could deliver. So I nervously bought a nice DSLR. I was concerned that I might have problems using it, I was worried that the camera was smarter than me! I looked all over the camera for a label that would say "CAUTION! Dumbass operators Not Allowed" I could not find it. My concerns were diminished when I saw the little green AUTO on the selector knob, I believe this is the cameras way of saying "Hi, Lets go play" I am having great fun getting acquainted with my new camera, and the camera is allowing me to be more imaginative. I have not forgotten my old Panasonic, there are times I dont want a 9 pound rock around my neck . The point I am trying to make here Lyn is: money is WASTED if a camera or piece of equipment is purchased and never used. If it is no longer any fun, find something that is! I believe that purchasing extra lenses will allow you to be more creative and increase your knowledge base. Money well spent, if it does that. I enjoy my Panasonic but I am now aware of its quality limitations. "Camera noise" becomes more evident and irritating as your expectations increase. The high priced DSLR's allow you to eliminate as much camera noise as possible, but the functions are the same as your present camera, only greatly extended. You cant go wrong with either choice, as long as you have fun and use what you got. By the way, I also have made plenty of purchases on Ebay, my only recommendation is: make sure you do your research before you buy. Good Luck

Thanks for your wise input LD :)
I am sure my new toys will keep me occupied in the meantime and I didnt need a mortgage to get them - maybe I shall never upgrade - lol a 9lb rock sounds fearsome.
I still have much to learn about the FZ7 - I may have left my run too late to learn the intricacies of a more complicated camera :) Some of us were born to point and click - I just wish I had started p & c-ing a bit earlier.

Rats!!! I have been DETECTED, the others have sniffed me out and are demanding a POST. Is this their friendly way of saying "lets go play?" My mom always said to share, so let me look thru my private stash, and I will soon share a post. Thats what I get for expressing views on a site with intellectuals. :)
