Why is there this weird "circle" on my photos?

Ok, here's the deal...I use a Nikon Coolpix 4800 and it has given me tons of trouble. The Nikon people have been very uncooperative.
Some of you may have noticed that toward the top right side of my photos there are times a weird "little round thingie" appears. Sometimes it's gray, sometimes white, sometimes small and sometimes bigger. I do not know what causes this. Then when I crop the photo, it shows up the noise more. Does anyone know what this might be? Or will I be forced to take it to a photo shop to see about getting it repaired? I only see it on sky shots. Help? Anyone?

Verona, I said to you before that it might be dust on the CCD photo-chip as I had identical problem with a Nikon D-80 as well. Now I've found out that the Nikon Coolpix 4800 hasn't a removabable lens, this possibilty has become unlikely. The fact that this weird "little round thingie" sometimes is gray, sometimes white, sometimes small and sometimes bigger, might be and indication that it's caused by a tiny (dust?) subject in the fixed lense itself and varies by the chosen diafragma and background of your images. Hope that anyone else at Caedes can offer you an (inventive) solution, else you will be forced to take it to a photo shop indeed.
Regards, Cornelius
Edit: reading your comment below I see now indeed that I made a typing error. Sorry Verena. I had not the intentention to compare you with the Lady of Verona, lol.

No Halo...because its on the same exact spot each time...I could post a photo with it on there, but I'd rather send it email. I don't want to waste the posting..heehee...and yes it's a fixed lens, and from all that people have suggested I am pretty sure it is on the inside, stuck there somehow..I keep my lens clean, and I know this, I would NEVER buy a fixed lens camera again. This Nikon has been nothing but trouble from day one. A waste of money. Thanx to all of you SO MUCH. I knew you would have good helpful stuff to tell me...by the way mr.COrn..the name is VErena and not VerOna..heehee, altho its a compliment to thing of myself as Lady from Verona..(smile)

I can see you as the girl from Ipanema ...

sun scorched beaches, waves gently lapping at the shoreline .. bronze, oiled, bodies scampering to and fro ... and YOU, walking purposefully down the beach, encased in only coppertone and a Brazillian style micro-bikini-thon.............

yeah, maybe the lady from verona is a better example

Verena - It is more than likely you have dust, even the Queen of England has ...dust! it is also possible because of the climate conditions where you live, that you have condensation on your CCD. Thats the little thingy that captures light and converts it into digital food that your camera and computers feed on. Because it is a fixed lens, you cannot clean it yourself, unless you have the talent of a surgeon. The camera can be taken into a certified camera repair shop and for a small fortune, the usual bribe is $50, they will clean it professionally. If the camera has been a challenge to your nerve system, I suggest you not purchase groceries for a month, and use the money to purchase a new camera instead. You will be happy, I will be happy, we all will be happy. Good Luck :)
