I've made a special page that I'd like to use to give people an idea of what a good review/image comment entails. My hope is that with quality reviews from talented artists we can attract more talent to the site. Here's the page: [Reviews].
Before I make the page I'd like to get some ideas together in this thread. What do you think makes a good review?
yes, this would help quite a bit actually. I mean, I'm glad that people comment when they like a piece - but, I would also like to hear suggestions from other artists as well on how I might improve.
Actually caedes I think you pretty well covered it.
to be honest...that's all that I can think of. I generally comment on the composition and colors - because, i like color and the lack of, as well. If the composition is done well I always comment on that.
With the exception of telling a person you like somthing I find it hard to tell a person what you think cause Im afraid it will hurt their feelings and the will get upset, especially if it is a negative comment.
It wouldn't have to be negative. If it is a suggestion on how they may improve it shouldn't hurt their feelings. Now - on the other hand - if you don't like it at all there is no need to be rude. A simple, polite suggestion should do.
The ImageMods should have write access to the page that I linked to in the first post. You can go ahead an make the page. I don't really have time to do it right now.
