Hello.
I was wondering if someone who knew would be able to tell me what is the point of voting for images, and what role does it play?
Can we see an average number of votes per image somehow from our gallery?( i don't mean number of votes, because we can see that, but, what the average out of 10 is for each of our pics). I just want to understand what the votes are used for, i don't have a problem with it at all.
I would really appreciate it if anyone could give me a honest answer, and who really knows.
Ah, well the main concept is what we call c-index. It's pretty much the out of ten thing used in the voting booth so the user gets feedback, except when people vote out of ten it somehow converts it to out of 100. So if you were to go onto an images page, or your own caedes control page even, you can view the c-index and see how it's been rated. A confusing system but it does its job to a tee =]
Btw cos I don't think I clarified and I can't be bothered to go back and add more stuff to that paragraph, the c-index number is the average score, so say on average people voted at number 5, the c-index would be 50. Nice and easy when you get used to it. Just don't ask me about relative c-index... that still confuses me a tad =]
Wow I only meant that last one to be a short paragraph. I shall stop typing now in the hopes that I stop being so incredibly long winded.
relative c-index relates to the score RELATIVE to images in the sub gallery it was uploaded to instead of all the galleries combined.
members used to be able to view voting spreads at one time but it just caused much anguish/grinding of teeth/bitching/retaliatory vote attacking etc so it got knocked on the head.
