Pink Disaster

I did a group of different coloured cineraria images with similar treatment to what I did with Pink Stars which recived a c-index score of 32.
I get the message that it was not well received so of course will probably not upload the rest of them.
I spent a lot of time working on them and would be interested to hear your opinions as to why this one failed so miserably - did I over process in trying to obtain the look I was trying to achieve?
Any thoughts are welcome.
I thought it was worth more than 32 but I am just ever so slightly biased lol. If the general opinion is that it belongs in the bin then to the bin it shall go.
In retrospect it was a very ill-chosen title - this is one that did not shine at all. :) :)

At first glance, it looks like the image is out of focus. Since I imagine most people base their vote on first glance, I would say that's your issue.

I had a quick look.. I love the 3D effect and the soft focus but.... (yes there is always a BUT.. lol)it could be my eyes the main flower looks a little blurry when you full view it maybe thats whats holding it back.. apart from that I can't see what the problem is..

Thank you both :)
I guess sometime things are better left alone sometimes - I may give one of the others a try - may as well have a pair of lead balloons :)

Well, actually, my recent 'experimentations' make a flock of lead ballons now that I look at some of the other scores lol

Eve, I saw this image and did not comment on it due to time constraints @ the time:)....the soft focus really makes the flowers appeared blurred IMO. I love the color of the frame but it appears too wide for the smaller flowers. In addition :):),
I might have flipped the image to make room for icons since most use the 'left side' for them.
That is the critique from me for what it is worth, but I do believe that the soft focus is the main reason for the index tanking.....:(
Keep on experimenting.....thanks!

Thank you Mimi :)

I sometimes forget I am out of step with the rest of humanity - my icons are always on the right. Maybe something to do with which side of my brain (?) I use (?) lol

Lyn - "Out of step with the rest of Humanity, which side of my brain?, lead balloons!" at first guess, I would say you are STRESSED! but then I accessed a large view of your picture. . .I see that the problem is not stress, but simply out of focus. You can now quit biting your nails and enjoy life again. As a precaution and a curtsy to you, I will endure your stress for you for the next 35 sec. so you may re-energize your wonderful talents. I must be using the wrong side of my brain to extend an offer like that. . .but what the heck. . . enjoy!

While trying to create good pictures, I feel as if I am standing on the edge of Insanity. There is a door. I found myself knocking on the door. The door opened.. . . I was knocking from the inside. Oh Rats!

LOL Jerry I KNOW the b''''' thing is out of focus ! I soft focused it in PSP, deliberately, knowingly, stressfully, in a misguided (can't help it, its my brain) effort to create a mood of dreaminess, softness . . or something! I think that is what I did anyway. From now on I will make my images so sharp they will cut you !!
Just joking.
Your stress-enduring offer is gratefully accepted, it will just give me time to re-evaluate the other pictures I did in the same way and if I am feeling in the mood to shoot them dead before I am tempted to upload them and gain another 32 and cause people to think their eyesight is blurred.
And to punish myself I shall place the pink stars on my desktop for a whole hour.
That may be enough to make me take my camera out and about before it languishes and dies of inactivity.
If anyone has any enthusism going spare please send it to me. I have lost mine and my clicking finger is in danger of falling off as well.
:-) :-) :-) :-)

Your post made me smile - thank you :)

ps I still think it is worth more than 32 . . . runs for cover.
