Can someone tell me special pros/cons about this lens?
Sigma AF 17-70mm 2.8-4.5 DC Asp IF Makro
What about the 'back focus problem'?
I'm thinking of replacing my Canon EF-S 18-55 kit lens of the Canon 400D and came to this one for its good reviews.
If you can show me sample shots (good or bad) I'd be very grateful :o)

Chris, I just bought this lens as you know. I like it alot better than the 18-55 kit lens. My scores so far in the index have been way low (I do think unfairly so) I have not noticed the back focus problem you speak of but maybe I'm not knowledgeable enough to know the difference. My images "Cloudy But Blue" and "Wayland Pond Reflections" were taken with this lens. Cloudy But Blue I used manual focusing and and NDx4 fitler. The Wayland Pond image I used Auto mode on my cannon. Here are the links to them. Cloudy But Blue and Wayland Pond Reflections I had been doing alot of research and this lens really did seem to have the best reviews. I do like it but don't know if my scores on these two images are justified. These two image are probably still going through the VB I might add. I'll be most curious wht you decide on. sandi
